Throw yourself beyond what was perimeter
Roman, on the Plaça de la Vila de Madrid, a Roman site humble cemetery. Carrer
de la Canuda, which is the Avinguda del Portal de l'Àngel, and the Plaça Nova,
may follow the road to the establishment of Barcino, the Via Augusta Street of
Imperial Rome in Cadiz. Whatever travellers from the North arrived there would
be the place of the city of Nova (1). It was not until the third century, but
the walls have been confronted earlier, the Pax Romana rendered superfluous
such a defense.
Two towers strong on the side of the receipt of Barcino, their lower parts
novel, added at higher levels and changed over the centuries. Outside the left,
the tower is a beginner arch-all, the remnants of the two aqueducts, once
helped quench Barcino. The visible part of the Roman wall fronts Plaça Nova,
you can also take a look at the interior during the visit of the Casa de
l'Ardiaca.
For an idea of the scale of the Roman city, following the line of the wall
around to the Hotels in Barcelona. You see, outside the Casa de la Pia Almoina (2), which inthe wall. Follow Carrer de la Tapineria then south-east along Carrer del Sots
relevant Navarro. On the right, there are the remains of the apartments of Roman
origin, Barcelona construction medieval and later.
Duck in the Carrer de Poma d'Or and on small green Plaça dels Traginers
dominated by the base station to another round defensive Roman (3). Follow
Carrer del Correu Vell Carrer de Regomir to turn right onto the square of the
same name. Just before civil rights, it is known as a center for Pati Llimona
(4) (closed 2-4:30 pm), in which you can see from the southern part of the city
gate and the wall. If you walk up Carrer del Call (the heart of the old Jewish
ghetto medieval), and enter the jewellery shop as No. 5, you can use the
remains of the Western Wall (5).
From there, turn again to the east, crossing the Plaça de Sant Jaume (north of
the border, which runs the area of the former Forum), and then dogleg around
the track Carrer del Paradís. Inside No. 10, there are four Corinthian columns Barcelona Hotels proud of what has been the temple of Romà Augusti (6), was built forthe worship of the emperor Augustus. The best time to call is from 10 am to 2
pm, Monday through Saturday. Otherwise, the hike, if the door is open.
To make your visit to the Museum Roman d'Història de la Ciutat (7). Continue
north along the Carrer Paradís up to the cathedral. Turn right and go straight
on the Plaça del Rei. Just outside the area in the south entrance of the
